Rebecca Allan
painter + Head of Education at Bard Graduate Center for Decorative Arts, Design, and Material Culture
Rebecca Allan is a New York-based painter whose work centers on the landscape and themes of music. Allan is also the Head of Education at Bard Graduate Center for Decorative Arts, Design, and Material Culture where she curates a range of programs related to the Center's exhibitions. Exhibiting nationally and abroad for more than 25 years, Allan's most recent solo exhibitions were presented at Ringling College of Art + Design, Seattle Art Museum, 2/20 Gallery in New York City, and the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies. Allan has been a fellow at the Hermitage Artists Retreat (Florida), Centrum Foundation, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and Dorland Mountain Art Colony. Her next exhibition, Ground/Water, opens at Utah State University's Tippetts Gallery in September, 2012.
